Golden Investigator =)

My Golden Investigator!

Things went pretty well this week we were able to start to find a lot of new investigators to be able to really get this area to start going. We had a couple mission activities (in the ward) and we are hoping to be able to keep going good =)
On Tuesday we got a few new investigators. 2 of them are a couple that make masks for the parties that go on here. They are pretty cool. We were able to teach about the necessity of going to church and we helped them feel that we are truly God's servants, it was a great lesson and we hope that they will start to progress =) Then on Wednesday we did divisions to be able to do some baptismal interviews here. While my district leader was doing one of the interviews we were outside waiting (the sisters and I) when a young man walked by and so we started to talk to him. His name is Jon. After teaching a little bit of the first lesson we challenged him to baptism and he accepted, he has a baptismal date for July 19. Then on Thursday we taught Elujan. He's new and started saying that he wants to join the church, but said it so directly that we were shocked. Then on Friday we were able to find a new family and put baptismal dates with them and they even gave us the reference of a new family with whom we also put baptismal dates on Sunday =) And then yesterday we were in Sacrament Meeting when a random guy came and talked to me and said that he had felt the need to join the church and so he looked it up on internet, talked to a missionary on mormon.org and she told him how to get to the church. He talked to me and said that he wanted to be baptized and already had a baptismal date for July 5... =)=)=)=)=)=)=)=)=)=)=)=)=)=)=)=)=)=)=)=)=)=)=)=)=)=)=)=)=)=)=)=)=)=)=) Golden!!!!!!!!!! He stayed in church all three hours and is ready to learn everything. He's from Colombia and is very cool =)
So we had a pretty good week... ok, a really awesome week =) And Costa Rica even won their game in the World Cup =) Yeah, everything's awesome. Love you all, see ya!

So this week went well, I had some good experiences... so here we go.
On Monday our plans fell through so we went looking for new investigators. We walked and walked and I decided to talk with a random person. He didn't accept us but somebody else left the house who looked like Bob Marley haha Well, we taught him a lesson and he accepted a baptismal date! It was a neat experience for us, but we had to pass the reference the the sisters because he actually lives in their area =(   Then on Wednesday we went with Martin. We were able to clear up his doubts and place a baptismal date for June 14 =) He should be getting baptized on Saturday. And the biggest thing that happened this week was that on Friday we had a multi-zone conference with Elder Ochoa (member of the seventy). I was able to learn a lot about who I am as a missionary and the power that I have. As missionaries sometimes we get scared about talking to people, but we shouldn't be scared, why? We are preaching the truth =) Basically that's what I was able to learn this week, it was a really good conference and I hope to be able to apply all that I have learned. I'll write next week, see ya later.

Hey everyone! Things are going rather swell here in Escazú. But, I have to answer some questions before saying what's new.
I've had a few health problems so to answer one question, yes, I'm now feeling a lot better =) About my new comp: He's really friendly and is funny. He's from Guatemala City (close) and he has 10 months in the mission. He is a good teacher and really loves the people, all in all, a good missionary. My apartment? It's pretty nice, I've got a comfy chair =) Supposedly it's been haunted by ghosts (we live close to cemeteries) but it's been blessed several times so I don't think that we'll have problems. And yes I'm still "in san jose". My area is about 30 minutes out of San Jose. There are lots of gringos here. In church yesterday I think that about 1/3 of the congregation was gringos. Even the bishop is a gringo. We are surrounded by mountains here and now that the rain has started it's been a little cold. So yeah, I think that answers all the questions. Oh, and happy birthday Brielle =)
So this week I was pretty much just getting to know the area. We didn't have many lessons because they made me teach english classes too.... So that used a lot of our time. We also had a few service projects so that took time away too. But in the end we were able to find a couple new investigators and also put some baptismal dates. I think we should have a baptism this next week =) His name is Martin, he just needs to recieve one answer in prayer to one question and he will be baptized =) He just has a little doubt about baptisms for the dead. We already answered with scriptures and he's almost convinced =) Anyway, that's almost all my time I have to write.
To end I just wanted to congratulate those who have started to work more in family history, you are saving lives on the other side =) Good work =)
Love you all, talk to you next week!

P.S. There's a new sister missionary in my area (gringa) so I have to help translate quite a bit, it's pretty fun to remember how it was when I didn't know much =)

Changes!

So this week went really well. I am happy with how everything turned out =)

We visited several investigators trying to get them to progress and go to church. We were able to visit Enrique and his family (they are pretty cool and very open to hear more) and we were able to place baptismal dates! Well, during the week, we also went to the temple. It was a great experience and I could really feel the Spirit. And thenon Sunday we passed by to pick up investigators. We ended up having 6 in church =) We brought 4 and some members brought 2 =) We were blessed for our efforts. And we had a very good church attendance including some members that I had been trying to get to attend church for 4 months! I was very blessed to see people go to church. Well, like my title says, I had changes again. I am now in Escazú. It is a very beautiful, rich area and they say that the work here is going great. I am really excited to be working here with Elder Roldan, from Guatemala. We are going to get working like crazy here so that we can fulfill our missionary purpose. Thanks for the support as always, talk to y'all later!

So this last week went really well, we had some of the best numbers that I've had in all the mission! Pretty much yeah, a great week.

On Monday we started off having a lesson with Brayan and Priscila and their family and everyone was there =) We talked about who God is and how we can be closer to him. In the end, all 5 accepted baptismal dates! Then on Wednesday we did divisions, I went with a member that's preparing for the mission and my comp with with a return missionary of 1 week. My comp went to find some new people to teach and found 4 families! I went with a progressing investigator, David, and put a baptismal date for this coming Saturday, he accepted and will be baptized this Saturday after a mission activity that we have! Then on Thursday we met up with another progressing investigator, Bagner. We were able to clarify some doubts that he had and be able to put a baptismal date for the 24th! And then we were able to go to some new people and we put a baptismal date with one of them too for June 14! So we were able to find lots of new people and put a lot of baptismal dates this week, it was pretty cool=) Well, that was my week, thanks for reading, bye!

So this last week didn't go exactly as planned... we had few lessons and so we used a lot of time just looking for people. I think we were able to find a few good people so hopefully we'll be able to start teaching a lot soon =) Yeah, so I don't really have much to say, we were basically just walking around looking for people. A couple times we just felt like looking in a certain spot or saying something different and we were able to find some new people following the revelation that we recieved. Yeah, sorry this is a boring letter, it's cause we didn't really have much happen this week =) Love you all, see ya later!
